Monday night on the box

Firstly, I don’t know why bad-hair Corby got voted in to the final. Judges on Idol have often said it’s not about the talent you have but about how marketable you are. And Corby is just nothing but a good voice. I think he has the least charisma of the final three. Not to mention the worst fashion sense.

I guess the upside for Trumpet boy is that he’s pretty much market-ready, so it would be a wise promoter that gets hold of him, puts him in a studio with a big band and can pump out a CD quick smart. By Christmas might be pushing it but the iron is hot, so to speak. It also means he won’t be tied up in the wank Idol contract they’ll have for the winner: soppy crap ballad song written for him/her as a first single, saccharine wank first album and shopping centre appearances all over the country. Carl’s a musician; he’ll go places.

And as for Califucking… how can you do a series two about a self-destructive, tragically flawed, womanising has-been writer who’s just driven off into the sunset with the love of his life? Sounds kind of final to me.

And I missed Media Watch. Have they outed Piers Ackerman as being a Johnny lover? Journalist? Honestly, if the man were on radio, he’d be Alan Jones.
