Bairn,
Media.
The Umbilical Brothers have a kids’ TV show called The Upside Down Show. I’ve never really been big fans of the UBs, who as far as I could tell made a living out of making squelching noises into a microphone, but for kids TV, they’re excellent. They have this thing at the start of every [...]
One of the first things I did when Gmail was released to bloggers, was to sign up my kids. Sure, they can’t read yet but I figure one day they’ll probably learn and will want to email their friends. So instead of them having usernames like littlemissl8382938576298 and little.miss.m09847au, I thought I’d get in early [...]

Bairn,
Ma vie.
I was driving around of Friday night, having just picked up the kids from daycare. C was having a post-work bevvy with a colleague, so I thought I’d drive the kids around and look for a bakery or something to give them a bite to eat that didn’t involve a happy meal ( because they [...]

They say you shouldn’t cry over spilt milk. But two litres on the lounge rug is surely worth a few sniffles.

I know the joke has been made many many times, about how some words end in -ough and have different pronunciations. In fact, I think I read somewhere that the word duff is derivative of the word dough. Or was it the other way around? That aside, for some reason I seem to be gaining [...]
I recently had cause to visit the lovely seaside tack-fest that is Glenelg. Little Miss L was going to a party in the Fairy-cave or the Fairy-bunker or whatever it was called, which left me and Little Miss M with a couple of hours up our sleeves (or half an hour up each sleeve if [...]

I had just strapped Little Misses L and M in the car this morning and was still waiting for C to get in. L hadn’t wanted to be strapped in but rather wanted to sit in the front seat. By using a stern tone and a menacing look I was able to coax her into [...]

Bairn,
Ma vie.
When C & I went on honeymoon, it was to a different country where contagious diseases are different from the ones we get over here. So I dutifully went along to a doctor specialising in overseas immunisations to get shot, so to speak. The doc went through a list with me of diseases that I [...]

I’m not referring to anything wrong with the new hosting bits. No, I’m talking about teething, especially in infants, especially in mine. For some reason, the arrival of molars in Little Miss M’s mouth has caused rather an unwanted reaction in her upon her waking anywhere between midnight and 4 am-ish. Normally, we might take [...]
